Rated 1 out of 5 by from I don't like inductionSo many things I don't like about it. The main reason I was talked into it was because it is easy to clean, but it really isn't. Unless you really buff it, it looks smudgy. As for cooking, you can't pick a pan up off the range because the burner will turn off in a few seconds if you bring the pan to the sink to add water. If a pan boils over, you have to clean up to continue cooking because it will shut off. If you use too much water while cleaning, it will get an error code and sometimes you have to switch the circuit breaker to clear the error code! The buttons which are not really buttons sometimes don't detect your fingers and it can be hard to change the temperature. It is also not a good interface, you have to select the burner, then change the temperature, unlike a regular dial where you can work directly with a particular burner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of my dreams come true!So excited to finally have this baby in my new kitchen. It looks incredible---low profile, unobtrusive controls, sleek look. It cooks amazingly--large cooking surface, so many options for cooking zones. Love the safety features. Overall, an A+!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love Induction cookingI was hesitant to switch from gas to induction but after the salesman gave us a demonstration and I researched induction cooktops, we decided to purchase it and we love all the features and are telling all our friends it is the BEST way to cook.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Addition To Our Newly Renovated KitchenI agree with everything Jeff says and more. This is an excellent product that I would highly recommend. We have experienced none of the examples of problems noted in the bad reviews here. No pot whistling, no clicking, and no high pitch screeching. There is a slight hum associated with he cooktop when you use the Speed Boost option. With the use of cast iron you can blacken a steak as easily as with gas, without the danger of the open flame. My partner and I have no complaints whatsoever about the cooktop and would definitely purchase it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from exceeds expectationsWe heard that Bosch dishwashers were good, so we went with everything Bosch when we renovated our kitchen. All of the appliances (convection oven, microwave speed oven, fridge, and cooktop) have been fantastic! In particular, the induction cooktop has been a revelation. All the pluses we read about are even more true than advertised. It is easy to use, extremely fast (boiling water, for example), and easy to clean. We went with the benchmark version, b/c we wanted the flex feature. And it is definitely worth it; makes it very easy to move things around on the fly as you're managing several things at once on the cooktop. On top of all that, it looks really pro in our new kitchen. We couldn't be more pleased.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from High pitch noise! We've been using the flex type for about 6months and as soon as a pan touches the surface, this high pitch electric noise starts and and it is just terrible. This was an expensive investment to make my busy life easier so I can enjoy home cooking more for my family but this sharp screeching sound really bothers me and it is getting louder. I am calling the customer service to see what they can do about it then I will be posting another review hopefully soon.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Needs ImprovementWe purchased this cooktop about a month ago. Previous Bosch induction cooktops had great reviews so we figured that this next generation cooktop would carry on those successes despite not seeing any reviews online. Pros: I love how Bosch implemented the power control. No sliding or anything like that. Just press the burner, press the number, and you're all set. Only other mfg that had similar control was thermador. Cons: 1) Noise!! - we have all Demeyere Atlantis cookware which is suppose to be a benchmark for induction cookware and cast iron. The Demeyere is extremely loud on the cooktop at any setting above 5 (pots and pans). The constant buzzing and clicking really bothers both myself and my wife. With the exhaust hood on it's not as noticeable, but rarely do we cook with the vent on. This by itself may be a deal breaker for us. We're still trying to decide if we can live with the noise. Cast iron is predictably much better (no multi material layers) but there is still clicking and buzzing -- more in line with what I would have expected based on online reviews. 2) Burner markings are faint - because heat radiates straight up through the pan, it's a little more important to have your cookware centered on the burners, especially with carbon steel cookware. Unfortunately the markings are very faint. I suppose some might consider this a pro from an aesthetic viewpoint, but our priority is function over form so this is disappointing. 3) Burner layout - While we initially really liked the idea of the flex zones, I'm concerned about some of the tradeoffs involved. First of all, the entire zone is several inches from the bottom of the cooktop. Many other cooktops have similar spacing, but there are a handful that have the bottom left and right zones much closer to the base of the cooktop giving much for flexibility with large pieces of cookware. Since you have two 7-8" burners right next to each other, you cannot use two larger fry pans on one side. 4) Electronic controls - The cooktop defaults to flex zone which means that each time you turn it on, it defaults to a 3 burner configuration - left, center, right. This could be desirable to some, but for us it's a hassle since we more regularly use the cooktop in a 5 burner configuration. In all honesty, the turn of the flex option it's just a matter of pressing one additional button, but I do wish that default could be changed. 5) Aesthetics - Really wish Bosch would have turned up the styling a little bit. Most of the other high end induction hobs including the versions sold in Europe have much nicer styles with full stainless trim and/or edge beveled ceramic tops. This one is about as basic as they come in terms of style.
